Who can join the KPC scheme?
All full-time permanent and pensionable employees aged over 18 may join the scheme.
Is KPC membership compulsory?
Yes, but only for eligible employees who joined the Employer on or after 1 July 2006.
The scheme is however not compulsory for employees who joined the Employer before June 2006, but everyone is encouraged to join. The scheme Provides excellent value for money, with you as a member and the employer both making contributions.
How do I join the scheme?
To join the scheme, you must complete an Application for Membership form, a copy of which is included at the back of this booklet. On completion the form should be returned to the Scheme Secretariat for processing. You will be required to supply support information such as evidence of age or any other information as required by the Trustees of the scheme.
If I join, what happens to pensions I have elsewhere?
The scheme can accept transfers from other approved pension arrangements. Further details will be provided by the secretariat to anyone who is interested
Am I also a member of the NSSF?
Your membership of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is in no way affected by being a member of the scheme. You and the Employer will still be required to pay the statutory contributions to the NSSF, but you will be entitled to all the benefits provided under this scheme.
